Gifts for the baby

Here's an old post from 2009 that I never published.

I'm amazed at how many people want to make things for Baby Baker...and how many people have already started making things! We are really lucky to have three crafty grandmas (not to mention all the great-grandmas, and some aunts too!) who are busy stitching, knitting, and generally crafting away. Here are a few of the items in progress or already gifted to us.

Baby's Christmas stocking...a detailed cross-stitch being made by Grandma Paula

Baby's first beanie...Grandma Julia knitted a cute little hat! He will wear it home from the hospital.

Baby Book...Great-Grandma Jean Bode (my grandma) made a little cloth book that will hopefully keep Baby entertained for hours (is that wishful thinking on my behalf?)

Grandma Nina is busy working on a blanket, if it's as beautiful as the blanket she knitted for our wedding gift we are lucky! Baby Baker will be wrapped in this blanket on the way home from the hospital.

Great-Grandma Vinsonhaler (Jeremy's grandma) has been hard at work on burp rags and other necessities, I've been told. Auntie Emily (my sister) is having a photo album/scrapbook made. And Grandma Julia has offered to make the bedding/crib sheets for the nursery, we are going to pick out some fabric soon!
