As I mentioned in the post below, I was playing in Portland this weekend but still experienced a few sweet Mother's Day moments. When I was passing through security in the Boise airport, the screener took one look at my belly and said "Happy Mother's Day". I was so touched! (And so glad she didn't think I was just fat!)
My friend Mia and I back at a wedding in August 2008. We were competing to see who could stick their belly out the furthest. She won then, but I've got her beat now!
I also received the following text from my brother, whom I don't hear from or talk to very often. "happy first mother's day sis". That text was accompanied by several other texts with the same wishes from dear friends of mine...note to self, make sure to wish friends the same when they are pregnant with their first! But the one from my brother meant the most to me.
And, when I got home, Jeremy had a sweet card and the DEMDACO figurine below waiting for me on the counter. I've been crying a bit more lately so of course this set me off, but for good reasons...I will cherish his gift for years to come.
